The New Cigna medical network is called the Open Access Plus or OAP.

*Effective January 1, 2017 you must use a Cigna Provider to obtain in-network benefits. BlueCross BlueShield of Arizona is no longer the Fund's network provider.

What if I need to talk to a nurse about a health concern for me or a family member?

  • Call the 24 Hour Health Information Nurse Line - You may call at any time, seven days a week.
  • You may call the 24-Hour Health Information Line to talk with a nurse about your child's fever, pain that is getting worse, or an injury your spouse just suffered.
  • Nurses will help you with care options, treatment alternatives, home care remedies, etc.
  • They will also help you find a local urgent care provider if you require that level of care.
  • If you have questions about an illness or other diagnosis such as: cancer, diabetes, low back pain, high blood pressure, etc., you cann call a CIGNA Nurse who can assist you with your questions.

What are the differences in the CIGNA OAP Network and our past PPO network?

  • You will have the same freedom of provider choice as you do with the past PPO program, which means you will not need a referral to see a specialist and you will not need to select a primary care physician (PCP).
  • While it is not required, we encourage you to establish a relationship with a PCP who will get to know you and your health risks and opportunities, help coordinate care to get you well, and act as a persona health advocate.

  • We encourage you to establish a relationship with a Primary Care Physician (PCP) who will get to know you and your health risks and opportunities, help coordinate care to get you well, and serve as your personal health advocate.
  • With the Cigna OAP network, look for the Cigna Care Designation to find top-performing doctors - and save an average of 16% on treatment costs.
  • To find a top performing doctor when you use Cigna's online directory of doctors look for the special blue Cigna Care Designation logo.

How can I get durable medical equipment approved? (Like CPAP supplies, oxygen, home infusion)

  • Carecentrix (CCX) is Cigna's National Vendor for Durable Medical Equipment (DME), such as CPAP, Oxygen and Supplies, Home Infusion.
  • Per their contract, the in-network rendering provider will file their claim directly to Carecentrix. Carecentrix, would then submit claims to Cigna, at the contracted rate.

Will Cigna now be handling my claims processing?

Yes.

  • Effective January 1, 2017, the medical claims will be processed by Cigna HealthCare.
  • 1-800-CIGNA24. This change means you will have access to live customer service representatives to answer questions and handle issues 24 hour a day, 7 days a week - even on holidays.
  • Further, you will have access to an on-line, web based system called mycigna.com that will allow you to track your claims, review benefits, order an ID card, review what types of preventive care you need, view explanations of benefits, compare pharmacy medication prices and much more.
  • Your new ID card will have the new customer service number to call for questions.
  • Claims incurred PRIOR to January 1, 2017 should be sent to BeneSys.
