Healthcare Reimbursement (HRA) Benefits

The Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) is an account that has been established by the Trust for City of Detroit Non-Safety Employee Retirees that retired on or after 1/1/2015 on a service retirement. The HRA may be used for all “qualified medical expenses” for you and your eligible dependents.

City of Detroit Post 2014 Non Safety Medicare Eligible Employees Retiree Healthcare Trustees are excited to let you know that we have secured a Medicare Advantage healthcare option from Humana to offer the City of Detroit and your Medicare-eligible family members a Medicare health plan that coordinates with your current Pension benefits. The cost of this plan is less than your current pension stipend offered through the Trust and we feel after much due diligence that this is a valuable offer to consider.
