Merger of the Benefit Funds for New England, Connecticut and Rhode Island

Effective, January 1, 2018,  we are pleased to announce the mergers of the various Benefit Funds for New England, Connecticut and Rhode Island. These mergers will strengthen the Funds financially now and into the future, through the elimination of some duplicative administrative expenses and increased purchasing power of a member base of over 20,000. Stronger Funds will create more opportunity for financial security and stability for today's New England area Carpenters and future generations of Carpenters. It is important to note that although the "TRUSTS" are merging, there have been no changes to your benefits. Please see the merger announcement letter under the documents tab

Health Care Provider
The Trustees of the Rhode Island Carpenters Health Fund selected Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island as the health insurance company for the March 1, 2018 coverage period. Summary of Benefits and Coverage will be available in the Health Care documents tab.

Effective January 1, 2018, the Rhode Island Carpenters Health Fund will merger and become part of the New England Carpenters Health Benefits Fund. Please see the merger announcement under the Health Care documents tab.

Pension Member Information
The Pension personal benefit information will show your accrued Pension benefit as of the last plan year, your Pension history showing your credits as well as your Pension contributions received since January 2011. If you have questions regarding your personal Pension benefit, please contact the fund office.

Effective January 1, 2018, the Rhode Island Carpenters Pension Fund will merger and become part of the New England Carpenters Pension Fund. Please see the merger announcement under the Pension documents tab.  

Annuity Member Information
The Annuity personal benefit information will show your Annuity balances, and contributions received on your behalf since January 2011.  If you have questions regarding your personal Annuity benefit, please contact the fund office. 

Effective January 1, 2018, the Rhode Island Carpenters Annuity Fund will merger with Connecticut Carpenters Annuity Fund and become the Southern New England Carpenters Annuity Fund. Please see the merger announcement under the Annuity documents tab.
