When do I become eligible for benefits?

A.

An individual who is working in Covered Employment for a Participating Employer is eligible to become a Participant in the Plan.

Q.

When can I start Participating in the Plan?

A.

For the period prior to March 1, 2004, an individual becomes a Participant in the Plan upon completing 1000 Hours of Service in a consecutive 24-month period or following completion of 501 Hours of Service in one Plan Year. If an individual is employed on or after March 1, 2004, and is not yet a Participant, he/she becomes a Participant in the Plan upon completing 501 Hours of Service in one Plan Year.

What is a Plan Year?

March 1st through the last calendar day of February (of the following year).

Do I need to do anything to enroll in the Plan?

No

Q.

When do I become vested?

A.

A Participant in the Plan becomes fully vested following the completion of the above participation requirements.

Q.

How do I become eligible to withdraw money from my account?

A.

Participants are eligible to withdraw money if they are retired (Early, Normal, or Late), disabled, or have had no contributions made to his Employer Contribution Account for at least 3 Years and during those three (3) years has not performed any work or had any employment anywhere in the roofing trade or as a supervisor of employees in the roofing trade.

What happens to my account when I die?

Your spouse or other named beneficiary would be entitled to any remaining balance.

Q.

How do I designate a Beneficiary for my Individual Account?

A.

Participants should contact the Fund Office to request a Beneficiary Designation form.

Q.

What if I get divorced?

A.

Participants should submit a court-filed divorce decree, marital settlement agreement, and (if applicable) a Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) so that the Fund Office can determine if the ex-spouse was awarded any portion of the Participant's account by the court.

How do I apply for a benefit?

Participants should contact the Fund Office to request an Application for Benefits.
