About Your Annuity

The Heat & Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Local 6 Annuity Plan is an Individual Account plan which means an account is recorded in your name. The account is made up of contributions made on your behalf through Collective Bargaining Agreements of participating Employers for whom you work, plus any earnings on the contributions.

Your Individual Account is set up as soon as contributions are made on your behalf. You will receive a statement from the Record keeper that shows all Employer contributions related to your work in the previous year and the current value of your Account. That total is the amount you receive when you become eligible for a distribution.

Please Note: The value of your benefit at retirement is equal to the value of your basic account. Although you may receive benefits under any of the several methods of payment you may select, the total of all payments under each alternate method are equal in value. The value of your account at retirement depends upon the amount of contributions and investment earnings credited to your account during the period of participation. Generally, the longer the period of your participation, the greater will be the value of your basic account at retirement. Similarly, the higher the investment earnings, the greater will be the value of your account. Should you wish to receive information about the performance of your individual account, please contact Mass Mutual at (877) 474-5106.
