After I choose a medical plan, am I able to change it in the future?
A.
After electing a medical plan when you first become eligible for benefits, the next opportunity to change it will be 12 months after your election date. There is a 12-month open enrollment policy which enables you to make changes to your plan any time after the 12-month waiting period has been met.

Your Lawful Spouse
California Registered Domestic Partner
Children that depend chiefly on you for support. Children can include:
Your natural children
Your legally adopted children
Your step-children
Child for whom you have been appointed legal guardian by court
(Children that are not eligible under their own health coverage are covered through age 25)

I am currently receiving a monthly pension benefit from the Plan, what happens if I do not receive my check?
A.
Although, the Administration office makes every effort to ensure that your monthly benefit arrives on time, sometimes it is possible that the delivery of your check is delayed beyond reasons out of our control. There is a possibility that your check gets lost in the mail processing. If for any reason, you do not receive your check by the 10th day of the month, you must contact the Administration Office so that a replacement check can be mail to you.

I am currently receiving a monthly pension benefit from the Plan and would like to change the bank account information. How do I change this information?
A.
You can change your direct deposit information by completing a new Direct Deposit Form which can be obtained from the Administration office or downloaded from the website. Once this form is completed, you must return it to the Administration office for implementation.

I am currently receiving a monthly pension benefit from the Plan and would like to change the tax withholding. What needs to be done
A.
You can change your tax withholding as often as you wish by completing a new W4-P which can be obtained from the Administration office or downloaded from the website. Once this form is completed, you must return it to the Administration office for implementation.

When do I retire?
A.
Normal Retirement AgeYour normal retirement date will be the first day of the month coinciding with or next following your 65th birthday after you have ceased working in covered employment
Disability-You may retire at any time if you are found totally and permanently disable and have been awarded Social Security Disability Benefits.
Q.
Who is eligible to become a Participant of the Plan?
A.
Any employee who is employed for one hour of service under a collective bargaining agreement is deemed a Participant in the Plan. A former participant in the Bricklayers Local 1 Pension Trust, who has a “Rollover Contribution Account” due to a rollover from the Local 1 Plan, shall become a participant on July 1, 2002, or on the date the rollover contribution account is established, whichever is later.

What determines the value of the accrued benefit in my Individual account?
A.
First, of course, is the amount of contributions that are paid on your behalf. This money along with the contributions in all other Individual accounts; is invested under policies established by the Board of Trustees of the Fund. Any interest or dividends is added to the contributions; changes in the value of investments also result in increases or decreases in the value of each individual account. From this accumulation is deducted a uniform share of the Plan’s operating expenses.

You would need to contact the credit union at the number listed in question 5 and complete the necessary paperwork.

Yes, you can sign up with the union hall for quarterly dues deductions from your vacation funds.

A.
No.
