Active, Office Workers, Retirees, Surviving Spouse and dependents

What if I don’t work enough hours to gain eligibility for the month?

A.

Members can make self-payments for up to 24 months

How do I maintain my monthly Health Care coverage?

A.

Active workers – 140 Hours per month 
Office workers – 160 Hours per month

Q.

How do I become a Participant in the Plan?

A.

Any Employee (or employee of the Union) on the payroll for an Employer who is within the collective bargaining unit covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement and on whose behalf contributions are to be made by the Employer to the Fund.


Q.

I am going through a divorce, what happens to my pension?

A.

Only if you are assigning a portion of your pension to an ex-spouse, then your benefit will be reduced per the Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) submitted.


Q.

Does the Pension Plan affect Social Security benefits in any way?

A.

You would need to contact the Social Security Administration office at 800-772-1213 to find this out.  Social Security Benefits do not affect your pension benefit through the Sheet Metal Workers Local 7-Zone 3 Plan.
