How do I get in touch with the Fund Office?

Q.

When do I first become eligible for coverage?

A.

You become eligible for coverage on the first day of the month following any period of not more than six-consecutive calendar months during which you work at least 600 hours for a contributing employer(s). Contributing employers have differing payroll periods that may affect the date of initial eligibility. The contributions made on your behalf for work in covered employment are credited to an hour bank. Please note, you maintain coverage as you fulfill the hour requirements outlined in the Summary Plan Description.

I am ready to retire, what do I need to do?

A.

Please contact the Union Hall to schedule a time to review the application and learn more about how to apply. You must apply for your pension benefit in writing prior to the annuity starting date, but no less than thirty (30) days prior to commencing your benefit. I just got married. How do I add my new wife as a beneficiary to my Pension Plan?

A.

To add your spouse as a beneficiary, complete a new Beneficiary form and send it to the Fund Office: Steamfitters and Pipefitters Local Union 464, Health & Welfare-Pension Fund 3930 South 147th Street, Suite 100, Omaha, NE 68144, Phone (402) 401-2345, or Toll Free (855) 725-3551 or fax (402) 592-2352. How long does my retirement application take to process?

A.

Typically your retirement application will be processed within 90 days unless special circumstances require an extension. You may contact the Fund Office to check the status of your application anytime. When will I become a participant?

A.

You will become a participant in the Plan on the date the first contribution or elective deferral is received by the Fund on your behalf.

What are the vesting rules?

A.

You are always 100% vested in your individual account?


Q.

How are the assets in my individual account invested?

A.

You are allowed to direct the investment of your contributions among the diversified options offered by the Plan. The Union Hall automatically provides new participants with a packet of materials describing each of the investment options available and the procedures for selecting and changing investment funds. If you have lost these materials, you may request another information packet by calling or writing the Union Hall. If you do not make an investment election, the Plan designates a “Default Investment” where your contributions will be invested.
