The Local Union 1710 IBEW Pension Trust Fund is a defined benefit pension plan designed to pay a specified (defined) monthly pension benefit on your retirement from the Plan. The Plan is financed by employer contributions as a result of collective bargaining agreements which provide that your employer and certain other employers agree to make payments to the Plan.
Your monthly pension benefit will be paid at the time of your retirement from the Plan and when you meet all applicable eligibility rules to qualify for that benefit. There are different benefit forms that you and your spouse may choose from. You may elect a form of benefit that provides your surviving spouse with a monthly pension benefit.
It is extremely important to ensure your beneficiary designation is current. You can update your beneficiary on forms available from the Trust Fund Office. If you die before retirement, and without having designated a beneficiary, the Plan will pay benefits in accordance with its rules. Those rules can be found in the Summary Plan Description.
Each year the Trust Fund Office will send active Participants a statement showing them their accrued benefit and providing other important information.
The Plan name is Local Union 1710 I.B.E.W. Pension Trust Fund. The Plan identification number (EIN) is 95-3826843 and the Plan number is 001.
