Who is eligible to become a Participant in the Plan?

A.

You, your legal spouse, children, step-children and adopted children. 

Q.

What if I don’t work enough hours to gain eligibility for the month?

A.

if you do not maintain eligibility you will receive a cobra or  self-pay notice advising of your continuation options.

Q.

How do I maintain my monthly Health Care coverage?

A.

Once you have earned initial eligibility, you will continue to earn three-month periods of eligibility called eligibility quarters. You will stay eligible as long as you work at least 400 hours per work quarter and the fund receives employer contributions for those hours. If you drop below hours in a work quarter, you can still be eligible if at least 800 hours of employer contributions have been made for you in the last two consecutive work quarters.

How do I become a Participant in the Plan?

A.

You must work for an employer who has agreed to contribute to the Plan on your behalf in accordance with a Collective.


Q.

I am going through a divorce, what happens to my pension?

A.

The Fund will adhere to the requirements of a Qualified Domestic Relations Order.


Q.

Does the Pension Plan affect Social Security benefits in any way?

A.

Your Social Security benefits are not affected in any way.

When do I become eligible for benefits?

A.

When you work in a job classification covered by a collective bargaining agreement requiring your employer to make contributions to the Asbestos Workers Local 24 Defined Contribution Annuity Pension Plan on your behalf.

When can I start Participating in the Plan?

A.

Immediately upon the Plan's receipt of contributions on your behalf from your employer.

Do I need to do anything to enroll in the Plan?

A.
