Frequently Asked Supplemental Pension Questions


Q. I'm no longer working and I would like to take a distribution from my Supplemental Pension Plan. 
A. Your account balance must be under $10,000.00 and out of the Sheet Metal Industry for 18 months. A Supplemental Application must be completed and mailed to the Pension Office at P.O. Box 1917 San Ramon, CA 94583.
Q. What type of distribution options do I have, if I want to take a distribution? 
A. You have the option of a Partial Lump Sum once a year, Lump Sum, Transfer Funds into an IRA, 50% Joint and Survivor Annuity, Single Life Annuity, Specified Monthly Payments, Specified Period payment, 100% Joint and Survivor Annuity, as well as In-Service Distributions, Qualified Birth and Adoption Distributions (QBAD), and Hardship Distributions. 
Q. Can I take a loan against my Supplemental Pension Plan?

Q. If I'm disabled can I take a distribution? 
A. Yes, you may request a withdrawal based on a continuing Temporary Disability by completing a supplemental application and provide a copy of your most recent State Disability or Workman's Comp. pay stub. 
Q. How do I go about finding out what my current balance is on my Supplemental Pension Plan?
A. If you have access to the Internet, you can view your account balance daily by logging on to https://www.nwps401k.com/login.aspx
Q. What is the maximum amount I can borrow? 
A. You may apply for a loan of up to 50% of the amount in your account or $50,000.00 which ever is less.
